Looking at the national media, one could be forgiven for thinking that the BNP weren’t trounced in Burnley. The above results show that they lost five of the six battles they fought in the County elections – the Lib Dems won all of them.
These results don’t show how votes were cast in the Euro elections. Here too, the Lib Dems topped the poll in Burnley. the BNP were fifth behind even Labour and UKIP.
